The First Event for Seafood, Fisheries and Aquaculture in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi International Marine Exhibition (SIMEC) is the only event of its kind, encompassing everything related to seafood products and the local production of seafood.

Why SIMEC?

No other event or gathering has ever brought together all sectors and activities associated to seafood, marine fisheries, aquaculture, and algae under one roof in Saudi Arabia. From imported seafood products to technologies needed by local fisheries to further develop Saudi’s aquaculture production, everything can be found at SIMEC. SIMEC 2026 will mark the sixth edition of this ground breaking event.

Why Saudi Arabia?

To support the further growth of aquaculture, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) has launched a series of initiatives aiming to catalyze the interest and efforts of the private sector. Among such initiatives are extensive R&D programs for the better domestication and improved efficiency of native species, market analyses and marketing campaigns for increased awareness and consumption of local seafood products and to support the infrastructure and capacity building. The country’s mission is to use all its available resources in the most effective manner in order to achieve its ambitious goal of 600,000 tons of localized production by 2030.
